Faith On Campus

RELIGIOUS LIFE AT WESLEYAN

Faith is a cornerstone of the mission of Wesleyan College, and we are deeply grateful for our long-standing relationship with the United Methodist Church and the spiritual grounding it provides. The Office of Campus Ministry sponsors retreats, pilgrimage weekends, and other programs and events that provide a time of respite during the rigors of the academic year.

Religious life at Wesleyan College is further enhanced by several additional campus ministry organizations which offer bible studies, worship experiences, trips, retreats, and social activities. These include the Wesley Foundation, the campus ministry organization sponsored by the United Methodist Church; Baptist Collegiate Ministries, sponsored by the Georgia Baptist Convention; the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and Reformed University Fellowship.

Methodist crossWesleyan College is affiliated with The United Methodist Church and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the baccalaureate degree, the master of education in early childhood education, the master of business administration, and the master of arts in industrial-organizational psychology. Wesleyan College is approved for listing by the University Senate as an institution that is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Student Leadership

Religious life is deepened through student-led campus programs like the Wesleyan Disciples and the Campus Ministry Assistants.

Foundation of Faith

Wesleyan College seeks avenues to embrace opportunities for interdenominational and interfaith dialogue and to celebrate the many religious traditions represented at Wesleyan.

Wesleyan Chapel

Pierce Chapel

Pierce Chapel is a sacred space dedicated to the creation of a campus community of respect, love, and understanding through prayer, worship, dialogue, learning, and service. Programming includes Sunday evening services, monthly mid-week services, monthly Taizé services, regular bible studies as well as other classes and events aimed at spiritual formation. Communion services are held each month presided over by area clergy. Special services that mark the liturgical year are celebrated, and convocations centered on the theme of social justice are conducted. The chapel also hosts lectures by eminent theologians and scholars, as well as inspiring concerts and community programs.

WESLEYANNES HAVE CONTINUED THEIR SPIRITUAL STUDIES AT PRESTIGiOUS INSTITUTIONS LIKE:

Participating in Wesleyan Disciples means being able to lead by example. Being a leader is more than a title; it’s an action.

“Being a Wesleyan Disciple has become a staple of my life at Wesleyan. I feel welcomed by my sisters at our worship services. Everyone has a place and a home to feel safe growing in their faith and sharing it with others.” Grace Stiles Williams '19
